Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the Wedding?

The wedding and reception will be held indoors at Walden Chicago (2145 W Walnut St).

Is there parking on site?

Yes, there is a parking lot right next to the venue.
Please note that parking is limited, however there is plenty of street parking with security doing rounds in the area

Can I bring a plus-one?

We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
If you have any questions, please reach out.

Can I bring my children?

We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
While we do have a few children part of the wedding party, we have decided to make this an adults-only celebration.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony begins promptly at 5:30 PM, and we recommend you arrive by 5:15 to ensure you can arrive comfortably and mingle with guests before the ceremony.
There is a brewery next door to pregame, responsibly.

What if I arrive late to the cermony?

We ask that you wait at the brewery next door or downstairs in the cocktail hour area.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is black tie optional. The wedding party will wear green and, obviously, white/ivory.
Please refrain from wearing these colors.

Should I bring a gift or order a gift?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for!
If you want to honor us with a gift, you can purchase it via our registry and have it delivered to our home.
A card box will be at our reception.

Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that you have your phones and cameras off and put away during the ceremony.
Our photographer will be capturing the ceremony, and we do not want any phones or cameras in our photos.

What kind of food will be served at the reception?

If you know us, you know we are foodies. Our choice of venue is the largest indicator of this.
We chose The Walden because of Chef Nick Lacasse (of mfk, Aba, and Half Acre fame).
We'll serve hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour, followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entrees.
Please let us know of any allergies or food restrictions in your RSVP so that we can accommodate.

Do I need cash for the bar or other food-related purchases for the night?

Ultimately, no. We will have an open bar for most of the night, excluding the first dance and the dinner.
We will have tip jars along the bar for our food and drink staff.
After dinner, we will have a dollar dance if you feel inclined to participate.

Will there be an opportunity to make a speech?

We hope not!
Unless we have connected with you beforehand, impromptu speeches are not welcome. (Speaking slots are up for sale at $5,000/min)
