IYKYK.
Dania and Erik met through a mutual colleague, Delaney. Dania and Delaney were in a leadership cohort. Dania was later introduced to Erik; they connected instantly. They started casually dating in the Spring of 2021 and would meet regularly over dinner (first over Shrimp Éouffée), then join Dania for Katrina’s obedience class. Before they knew it, Dania and Erik enjoyed each other's company more than they would have liked to admit.
By the August of 2021, they became official.
In mid-October, at Promontory Point in Chicago, during peak fall colors, Erik and Dania went for a little nature walk before heading to the Art Institute. He was nervous. As they got to his predetermined spot, they saw a bunch of runners. So he had to stall until they moved. Dania was suspicious but went with it. He asked for her coat, got down on his knee, and pulled out the ring to ask her to marry him. She said yes! After a photo shoot, they spent their afternoon smiling from ear to ear at the Art Institute. Later that evening, they gathered their immediate family and celebrated with wonderful food, wine, and champagne.
